Two hundred twenty-eight black and white photographs and six color photographs, chiefly taken by Keppler (earlier photos were shot by unknown photographers). All photographs were shot on site at Eastern Fine Paper in Brewer and South Brewer, Me. Photographs highlight different aspects of paper making production, including logging, processing, and packaging. Some photographs are dated and captioned.

Victor Keppler (1904-1987) was a commercial photographer and author. He was born and raised in New York City. Throughout his career he produced advertisements for clients such as Camel Cigarettes and the U.S. government. He also did cover photos for the Saturday Evening Post, founded the Famous Photographer School in Westport, Conn., 1961-1972, and wrote two books.
